The story of the Gold Listening Bar begins with Rob Visser, his passion for music and his extraordinary record collection. The idea grew to make not only that collection, but that of many others, available to a wider audience.
For our intimate bar, we were inspired by the Jazz Kissa's of Japan. All music is carefully selected from our extensive vinyl collection and played on a vintage high-end audio system.
Gold was born out of the desire to create a unique bar in Ghent, a music-centric living space for deep listening, coming together and sharing. We also want to provide a platform for presentations by creatives, labels and musicians. Vinyl and a superior sound are the connecting factors, the music is paramount and covers the whole spectrum of jazz, rock, avant-garde, electronic, brazil, soul... Vibe & atmosphere, that's what it's all about.
We serve an exquisite selection of (natural) wines, spirits, local craft beers and non-alcoholic beverages.

EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8 P.M.

A rare or special LP played on a top-notch system. The session is introduced by a musician, collector or enthusiast.

For an ideal listening experience silence is requested while listening to both sides of the main record.
Free admission - limited capacity - seating only - no reservations.

Record release / Label Night / Theme Night / Outlier Session
EVERY THURSDAY FROM 8 P.M.
A stage for musicians/bands and their new record. A record label presents its catalog on vinyl. An evening of music around a specific theme. A selector spins adventurous music, that’s a little more “out there”.

EVERY FRIDAY & SATURDAY FROM 8 P.M.
Selectors spin records from their own collection to share with the community. Music not immediately made for the dance floor: unusual, personal, atmospheric, eccentric or anachronistic music that you rarely or never hear in a bar.

In addition to requesting music from the extensive house collection, you can bring a record you would like to share.
